Lil Wayne
The discography of American rapper Lil Wayne consists of nine studio albums, twenty-three singles, and fifteen mixtapes. Music videos, mixtapes, and collaborations are also included. Born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., Lil Wayne began his career when he was a teenager. In 1993, Lil Wayne teamed with fellow rapper B.G. to form the duo The B.G.'z; they released an album True Story in 1995. Lil Wayne joined the group Hot Boys in 1997; Hot Boys would release three albums: Get It How U Live! in 1997, Guerrilla Warfare in 1999, and Let 'Em Burn in 2003. In 1998, Lil Wayne appeared on the hit single "Back That Thang Up" by fellow Hot Boys rapper Juvenile.
Lil Wayne made his solo debut in 1999 with Tha Block Is Hot, which went platinum and yielded the singles "Tha Block Is Hot", "Respect Us", and "Get Off the Corner". His later albums, Lights Out (2000) and 500 Degreez (2002) attracted minor attention, and Lil Wayne appeared on the Big Tymers' hit single "#1 Stunna" in 2000. Beginning in 2003, Lil Wayme began recording a series of mixtapes titled Da Drought that led up to his 2004 album Tha Carter. "Go D.J.", the lead single from Tha Carter, reached #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, and Lil Wayne also made a guest performance on another top ten single, "Soldier" by Destiny's Child. In 2005, Tha Carter II came out with the singles "Fireman", "Hustler Muzik", and "Shooter".
